Kurt Ellis, MA, LLP, LPC

“I believe that a rough start to life should not mean that a child cannot have a great present or future!”

Hi, I’m Kurt Ellis

Kurt is a Christian therapist who specializes in trauma and other adoption-related issues. In addition to working as an adoption professional for several years, he is also an adoptive parent. He has extensive training in trauma, development, and attachment therapy.

Kurt and his wife have been married since 1988 and have four children and six grandchildren. He and his wife enjoy hiking, traveling, and spending time with their family. In addition to his experience as a therapist and adoption professional, Kurt served as a youth pastor for five years and serves on the elder board and teaches adult Sunday School at his church.

My Approach & Values

Trauma, such as abuse, neglect, and loss, can affect a child’s ability to form healthy, loving, lasting relationships. The trauma can cause them to live in high anxiety and fear. That anxiety and fear affects every thought, every action, every reaction, and every feeling that they have. I have the opportunity to help these kids heal from the trauma and begin to live a life free of the high anxiety and fear.

It is a joy to see these kids begin to develop loving relationships with their parents and to begin to develop healthy friendships with their peers. It is also a joy to see them begin to believe that they are precious and priceless.
